To the great Rav*, the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, Rav A. (note 1: Rav A. Friedman, of Jerusalem; see on his subject letter no. 5905),

Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter of this Wednesday and I await the continuation of your good tidings regarding what you write to me.

You tell me about a Tanach* and you are presumably alluding to the one that was published in Jerusalem. It is indeed in my possession and, moreover, it is frightful to note that numerous differences have been introduced into it without even drawing up a list of them.

You tell me that you have a doubt about your name, for you received one at your birth, while subsequently, at school, you were given another. I am surprised by your doubt (note 2: see on this subject letter no. 5905), for the Halachah* has been decided in this matter, taking into account the particularities of each situation, in the laws of names stated in particular regarding marriage documents.

במענה למכתבו מיום הרביעי, ומחכים להמשך בשורתו הטובה במה שכותב.

ובמ"ש אודות התנ"ך, כנראה כוונתו לתנ"ך הנדפס בירושלים ונמצא הוא אצלי, ודא"ג מובן שמבהיל איך זה הדפיסו הוצאה בכמה שינוים מבלי להדפיס בה רשימת השינוים שנעשו.

במ"ש שמסתפק בהנוגע לשם, ששם העריסה הי' באופן א' ובבית ספר קראו לה בשם אחר, לפלא הספק בזה שהרי נפסקו הדינים, בהתאם לפרטי הדברים, בהלכות שמות שנוגע לשטרי קדושין כתובות וכו'.
