Greetings and blessings,

I duly received your letter of 6 Marcheshvan* and you yourself have surely received the answer to the questionnaire by telephone, as time is short.

You are considering instituting the reading of Tehillim*, according to their monthly division, in the various classes of the school. You know how important this reading is, as we have heard many times (note 2: presumably from the Frierdiker Rebbe*). Despite this, one must ask how much time it will take in each of these classes. Indeed, this time will be taken from the sacred studies, which are already reduced. In the upper classes, which read Hebrew fluently, one can indeed institute this practice. But for the younger classes, one must pose the question (note 3: whether to adopt this practice or not), and for the youngest, one will limit it to a single Psalm from the monthly division.

May Hashem grant you the success of raising students who study the Torah* with integrity and with the fear of Hashem. With my blessing to convey good tidings, always and every day,

במ"ש אודות להנהיג אמירת השיעור תהלים חדשי בכתות השונות של ביה"ס, הנה אף שידוע ושמענו כ"פ אודות גודל הדבר דאמירת שיעור תהלים זה, בכל זה יש להתחשב בכל כתה וכתה כמה זמן יקח אמירת כל השיעור, שהרי זמן זה יחסר מלימודי קדש שלהם שהוא בלא"ה מצומצם, ולכן אף שבהכתות הגבוהות שהקריאה שלהם בלה"ק שוטפת, יש להנהיג את הנ"ל, אבל בכתות שלמטה מזה יש להתבונן כאמור, ובכתות הכי קטנות ביותר יש להסתפק באמירת מזמור אחד מהשיעור חדשי היומי.

והשי"ת יצליחו להעמיד תלמידים לומדי תורה תמימה ביראת שמים.
