Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter, with the request for a blessing it contained, in which you refer to secular studies and to what should be written to the director on this subject.

It is quite clear that one cannot proceed in this manner, for this is a question that concerns each individual and not the school, which has its own method of functioning in this matter. Parents who truly seek the good of their children must therefore put into practice the teachings of our Sages* in this matter, who say: "One should feed him like a bull" and "instead of giving him vegetables, give him meat." How much more so for what cannot even be called a vegetable — quite the contrary — as explained in the laws of Torah* study of the Alter Rebbe*, the Tanya*, and other works.

You write that, according to what you have been told, one must know how to formulate such a question. In fact, there is no need to pose it, since, as I have said, this point is very clear if one consults the laws of Torah* study and the Tanya*.

You inform me of your wife's condition, and may Hashem grant that her pregnancy proceed well, that it be easy, and that she have a healthy child, in its time and with ease.

With my blessing to convey good tidings,

You have completed the study of the Torah Or* and the Likkutei Torah*. You therefore ask me what you should study now in place of these works. You will begin their study anew and will surely understand them more deeply.

במענה למכתבו עם הפ"נ המוסגר בו, בו כותב אודות הענין דלימודי חול, ולכתוב עד"ז להמנהל וכו'.

והנה מובן שאין זה הדרך, כיון שזהו ענינו של כאו"א ולא ענין של המוסד שיש לו טשארטער בזה, והדבר הוא ענינו של כאו"א מההורים הרוצים בטובתם האמיתי של ילדיהם שיחיו שעליהם לקיים הוראת חז"ל ורז"ל דספי לי' כתורא, ואם הודיעונו דבמקום דליעול ירקא ליעול בשרא, עאכו"כ בנדו"ד שגם ירקא אין זה. ועוד להיפך, וכמבואר בהל' ת"ת לרבנו הזקן, בתניא ועוד.

ומ"ש שאמרו לו, שצריך לדעת איך לשאול וכו'"

אמת שאין לשאול עד"ז, כי כנ"ל הדבר פשוט בהלכות ת"ת, בתניא ובכ"מ.

ולהודעתו ממצב זוגתו תחי', השי"ת ימלא ימי הריונה כשורה ובנקל ותלד זחו"ק בעתה ובזמנה כשורה ובקל.

בשאלתו כיון שסיים תו"א ולקו"ת סדר לימודו תמורת זה - ילמד עוה"פ הנ"ל, ובטח יראה הוספה בהבנה וכו'.
