To the young man Binyamin Noson (note 1: B. N. Gezuntheit, of Tel Aviv),

Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter, accompanied by a request for a blessing, which will be read, at an auspicious moment, at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us. In it, you describe to me in particular what you are currently doing and you share with me your doubts about the future.

It appears that you are experiencing success in the educational field. Now, those who undertake such a sacred mission and provide education based on sacred values are very few in number, while the demand is particularly great, to the point that in the near future, all those who adopt this activity in Eretz Yisrael* are assured of being able to earn a livelihood. In my view, you will therefore continue your work in the Chabad* schools, where you will make full use of your abilities, which, consequently, will develop further.

I hope that, within the framework of the activities conducted by the youth of the Chabad* association, you take advantage of the influence you exert upon your friends who, for the present, are still in the ranks of Tzahal* (note 2: see letter no. 5782, concerning Rav Zalmanov). You will attach them more firmly to Jewish values — that is, of course, to the concrete practice of mitzvos* — for, as I have already written to someone, upon all those who have been part of this army there devolves, for various reasons, this merit and this obligation, with even greater force. Above all, their ability to exert influence is much greater than that of people who have never been in that setting (note 3: who have not performed their military service).

You have surely established fixed studies of the revealed part of the Torah* and of Chassidus*, in addition to the three well-known studies, which cover the Chumash*, Tehillim*, and Tanya*.

במענה למכתבו עם הפ"נ שיקרא בעת רצון על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, בו כותב אודות עניניו עתה ואשר מסופק בהנוגע לעתידו וכו'.

ולדעתי כיון שכפי השמועה מצליח בשטח החינוך והעוסקים במלאכת שמים זו, ז.

א. חינוך על טהרת הקדש מעטים הם ביותר, ובה בשעה שהדרישה בזה גדולה פי כמה ועד כדי כך שכנראה בעתיד הקרוב באה"ק ת"ו תהי' ג"כ פרנסתם של העוסקים בזה מובטחת, דעתי שימשיך בעבודתו במוסדות חינוך החב"דים, ובאופן שיוכל לנצל כשרונותיו בזה ככל האפשרי, ובמילא גם יתפתח זה יותר ויותר...

תקותי שבמסגרת פעולות צעירי אגו"ח - מנצל השפעתו על חבריו שלע"ע נשארו עדיין בצה"ל, השפעה לקשרם יותר לעניני יהדות בכלל (שעיקרה מצות מעשיות כמובן ופשוט) ולעניני חסידות ביחוד, וכמו שכתבתי כבר לאחד, הנה כל אלו שהיו בצה"ל עליהם הזכות והחובה בזה ביותר וביותר ומכמה טעמים מובנים, והעיקר שבידם להשפיע יותר מאשר אלו שלא היו מעולם במסגרת זו.

בודאי יש לו שיעורים בלימוד תורת הנגלה וחסידות, נוסף על שלשת השיעורים בחומש תהלים ותניא הידועים.
