You allude to the birthday. For the time being, I have found an allusion to it in only a single source (note 2: see on this subject letter no. 6108) — the Yerushalmi* (note 3: The Rebbe notes at the bottom of the page: "Tractate Rosh Hashanah*, chapter 3, paragraph 8."), which states that on the day of one's birthday, a person's mazal* dominates (note 4: see on this subject letters no. 4865 and 5089). One can also deduce this from the explanation given of the verse: "These days are commemorated and relived," according to which, when a day returns at the same period of the year, all the events occur anew, as they did the first time.

One can cite as proof the law of the Mishnah*, at the end of chapter 3 of tractate Gittin*: wine kept in barrels is modified each year by the "anniversary" of the grape clusters. In any case, it is known that a concrete and powerful action carries even more weight than logic and therefore than a verse (note 5: The Rebbe notes at the bottom of the page: "According to tractate Kesubos* 22a."). Our holy masters adopted this custom, even though they practiced it discreetly.

... במ"ש אודות יום ההולדת, הנה לע"ע רק במקום אחד מצאתי עד"ז, והוא בירושלמי* אשר ביום ההולדת מזל האדם גובר, אבל מובן הוא ג"כ מפירוש עה"כ והימים האלה נזכרים ונעשים, שבכל יום לתקופת השנה, חוזרים הענינים לקדמותם, וידועה הראי' על זה מדין המשנה (גיטין סוף פרק ג') דהיין הנמצא בחביות נשתנה לתקופת השנה מיום "הולדת" הענבים, ובכ"א הרי ידוע דמעשה רב וחזק אפילו יותר מסברא, ובמילא גם יותר מקרא**, ונהגו בזה רבותינו נשיאינו הק' אף כי בצנעא.
