Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter of the 25th of Tishrei* and, at an auspicious time, I will mention the names of all those you cite at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit will protect us, so that each may obtain the satisfaction of his needs, in accordance with what you write me.

You ask me about your house. According to various texts and for several reasons, one must, in this matter, take particular account of the opinion of the mistress of the house. If you can, in a peaceful manner, obtain her agreement to remain in your current dwelling — especially since, as you write, you have been there for two years already — that will be perfect. However, if she does not accept this in any way, one must defer to her opinion.

Concerning the condition of your daughter and her development, which is not satisfactory, you surely know that many new treatments in this area have been discovered in recent years. It would therefore be judicious to consult a specialist doctor in this matter and, in particular, to ask him about these new treatments, in order to verify whether they are suited to her condition. May Hashem grant that this doctor give the best counsel for your daughter, for a visible and tangible good.

You conclude your letter by stating that you are a certified teacher, which means that you exercise influence over many Jews. You do not specify which subject you teach. Nevertheless, experience proves that a teacher does have an ascendancy over his students in the areas of religion and morality, whatever the subject he teaches. Now, the Holy One, blessed be He, acts "measure for measure," but in greatly increased proportion. Consequently, you and your wife will derive increased satisfaction from all your children, including your daughter.

P.S.: You surely know of the three daily studies — in the Chumash*, Tehillim*, and Tanya* — which are well known. As my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, said, these concern everyone and have a favorable effect in various domains. At the very least, you will adopt them in the future.

במענה למכתבו מכ"ה תשרי"

בעת רצון יזכירו את כל אלה שכותב אודותם על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע כ"א להמצטרך לו מתאים לתוכן כתבו.

ובשאלתו בענין הדירה, בכלל ע"פ המבואר בכ"מ בעניני דירה מתחשבים ביותר בדעת בעלת הבית ומכמה טעמים, ולכן באם בדרכי נועם יוכל לפעול אצלה שתסכים על דירתם בה דרים עתה, ובפרט שמתאים לכתבו כבר דרים בה כשנתיים מה טוב.

ובאם לא תסכים בשו"א על זה, יש לעשות כרצונה.

בקשר למצב בתם... תחי' והתפתחותה - שאינה משביעה רצון וכו'. בטח יודע שבשנים האחרונות המציאו כמה מיני טיפול חדשים בענינים כאלו. ולכן כדאי לשאול דעת רופא במקצוע זה, וביחוד ע"ד הטיפולים החדשים, באם מתאימים הם לנידון זה.

ויה"ר שייעצו באופן הכי טוב לבתו תחי' בטוב הנראה והנגלה.

וכיון שחותם מכתבו אשר עובד כמורה מקצועי וכו', ז"א שיש לו השפעה על כו"כ מבני ישראל, הנה אף שאינו מפרט המקצוע בו מלמד, בכל זה רואים במוחש, שלמורה באיזה מקצוע שיהי' יש לו השפעה מיוחדת על אלו השומעים לקחו - גם בעניני דת ומוסר. ותקותי שינצל אפשרות זו ככל יכלתו, ובמדתו של הקב"ה שהיא מדה כנגד מדה אלא שכ"פ ככה, ישולם לו ולזוג' תחי' בתוספת נחת מכל יו"ח שי', שבזה גם בתם הנ"ל תחי'.
