Greetings and blessings,

I was particularly pleased to receive your letter from the conclusion of the festival, in which you relate how it went, particularly Simchas Torah*. The month of Tishrei* has just passed — the seventh month, satiated with all good, of the year 5718 (note: the Rebbe spells out the Hebrew letters of the year — Tav, Shin, Chai — the word Chai meaning "living"). May Hashem therefore grant that this joy continue throughout the entire year, which you will live in good health and in peace, down to the smallest detail.

Hashem, Who is the source of blessings, will fully accomplish all those that Jews exchanged among themselves during the days of preparation for this month, in Elul — of which it is said: "I am to my Beloved and my Beloved is to me" — as well as during the days of the month of Tishrei*. We will receive the visible and tangible good, in particular blessings for you, in accordance with the well-known decision of the Heavenly Court, that "a Chassidic* farbrengen* can accomplish what the angel Michael* cannot."

With my blessing to give good news of your communal accomplishments and your personal concerns, so as to have, in the words of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, "a healthy winter,"
