Greetings and blessings,

I received your letter with pleasure. You describe to me briefly what has become of you and your actions in the domain of holiness since you were here. I am surprised that you do not tell me how you fulfilled your duties as prayer leader. I have good hope that it went very well and, without a doubt, the Holy One, blessed be He, kept His promise, as the first chapter of Iggeres HaTeshuvah* states, so that your prayer was answered, within all of Israel, to obtain a good and sweet year, materially and spiritually.

You tell me that you have no money. I am surprised that you can write this. Indeed, Hashem says: "The silver is Mine, the gold is Mine." It is therefore certain that you will not lack money — for yourself and for the members of your family, in your communal endeavors as in your personal concerns. Proof of this can be found in the teaching of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, according to which "the past delivers a lesson for the future."

From the past, you have been able to observe the beneficence of Hashem and, without a doubt, the promise will be fulfilled that: "When one bestows good upon someone, one does so for many days and good years." For your part, you will strengthen and reinforce the channels that are open. Moreover, you will enlarge and widen them. Of course, I am alluding to the Torah* and the mitzvos*.

נעם לי לקבל מכתבו, ראשי פרקים מהנעשה אתו ופעולותיו בקדש מעת הי' כאן, ולפלא שאינו מזכיר איך עבר ענין הש"ץ שלו, אף שתקותי חזקה שהי' על הצד היותר טוב, ובטח מלא השי"ת הבטחתו וע"פ המובן מאגרת התשובה פרק א' שנתקבל תפלתו בתוך כלל ישראל להמשיך שנה טובה ומתוקה בגשמיות וברוחניות.

ובמ"ש שאין כסף, לפלא כתיבה זו, שהרי כיון שהקב"ה אומר לי הכסף ולי הזהב, בודאי שלא יחסר ח"ו ממון לכל המצטרך לו ולב"ב שיחיו בענינים הכללים ובענינים הפרטים, וההוכחה על זה היא כפתגם כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר שהעבר מלמד את העתיד, וכמו שראה חסדי השי"ת בעבר בודאי תקוים הבטחת חז"ל שכל המטיבין לו הוא לארך ימים ושנים, ובודאי גם מצדם יחזיקו ויחזקו הצנורות פתוחים ועוד ירחיבום ויגדילום. ופשוט שכוונתי לעניני תורה ומצות.
