Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter of this Monday, with the request for a blessing it contained. You report the deficiencies of your chapter of the youth of the Chabad association. According to you, everything is contingent upon having a dynamic secretary. You specify that you are continuing your activities, but that you do not have enough energy. Now, time that is squandered is a loss that will never be recovered. Therefore, even if you are perfectly right in what you say, you must fulfill your function until someone is found who is better suited than you. Moreover, one may think that you yourself possess the necessary abilities and enthusiasm — that you merely lack motivation and experience. In such a case, the motivation can come from within, from the person concerned — all the more so since the merit of the communal comes to your aid in this matter.

May Hashem grant that you and your friends fully utilize the propitious days in which we find ourselves. The King, King of kings, the Holy One, blessed be He, is in the field, welcomes everyone with benevolence, shows a smiling countenance, as the Likkutei Torah* explains. Then, there will be the days during which the spark is near the luminary. It is explained, and one sees concretely, that these days have a general reach. Every addition during this period is therefore multiplied throughout the days of the following year. And our Sages* say that "the guardian of the well is appointed by Hashem." How much more so for a secretary responsible for Jewish values, whose primary objective is Chassidus*. May Hashem help you spread light around you and also within your own person. You will moisten yourself to the point of being able to moisten others. Through you and through them, the great Name will be sanctified.

On the occasion of the new year, which approaches for us and for all of Israel, for good and for blessing, I hereby send you and all your family my blessing to be inscribed and sealed for a good and sweet year, materially and spiritually.

שלום וברכה!

במענה למכתבו מיום השני, עם הפ"נ המוסגר בו, אודות המגרעות בסניף צעירי אגו"ח... ואשר דעתו הכל תלוי בזה שיהי' מזכיר מתאים בעל מרץ, וכותב שאף שממשיך בפעולותיו אבל אינו די מרץ וכו'.

והנה הזמן היא אבדה שאינה חוזרת. ומזה מובן שאפילו את"ל שצדק במאה אחוז, עליו לעבוד עד שימצא יותר טוב ממנו, ובפרט שיש מקום לומר שגם לו יש יכולת זו ומרץ ואינו חסר אלא דחיפה ונסיון, והרי בכגון דא מספיקה גם דחיפה מבפנים ז.א.

מהאדם עצמו ובפרט שבכגון דא זכות הרבים מסייעתו.

ויהי רצון שינצל הוא וכן כל חבריו שי' ימי הרצון בם אנו נמצאים שהמלך ממה"מ הקב"ה נמצא בשדה ומקבל את כל אדם בספ"י ומראה פנים שוחקות לכולם, כמבואר בלקו"ת, ולאחרי זה הימים דקירוב המאור אל הניצוץ, והרי מבואר ורואים גם במוחש שימים כללים הם ולכן כל תוספת במשך זמן זה נכפל פי כמה בימי השנה הבע"ל, ואם אפלו ריש גרגותא משמיא קא ממני לי' עאכו"כ מזכיר בעניני יהדות ונקודה התיכונה עניני דא"ח, והשי"ת יעזרהו להפיץ אור מסביבתו וכן בעצמו ובאופן דטופח ע"מ להטפיח גם על חבריו, ומני' ומנייהו יתקלס שם עילאה.

ולקראת השנה החדשה הבאה עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה ולברכה, הנני בזה להביע ברכתי לו ולכל אשר לו, ברכת כתיבה וחתימה טובה לשנה טובה ומתוקה בגשמיות וברוחניות.
