Greetings and blessings,

I duly received your letter of this Thursday, in which you describe the difficulties you are confronting — which, according to you, are explained by the fact that it is known that you study Chassidus* and that you invite others to do the same.

If this is indeed the case, your lot is enviable! You have the merit of disseminating the wellsprings of Chassidus*, of the hidden teaching of the Torah*, to the point that the "other side" has taken notice and seeks to prevent you. This must awaken in you increased strength and vigor, in order to do everything in your power so that the luminary of the Torah* be revealed ever more clearly. One cannot imagine a more important accomplishment! Of course, the actions of Jews must be carried out in a pleasant and peaceful manner, but this is independent of the accomplishment itself and concerns only the way in which it is put into practice. In this matter, one should not exaggerate the importance of the veils — neither in your own eyes nor in the eyes of others. May Hashem grant that those who seem to want to oppose realize the truth and understand that their attitude is not the expression of their true will. Deep within, every Jew desires to be connected to the inner teaching of the Torah*, for he wishes to cleave deeply to the Holy One, blessed be He. And this is indeed the means of achieving it, as the holy Zohar* explains, Vol. 3, p. 73a.

Your letter seems to indicate that some of your friends have also been "caught" on account of Chassidus*. Yet it is said: "It is your life and the length of your days." You will therefore find a way to convey all of this to them. May Hashem grant that the promise be fulfilled very soon: "Your wellsprings shall spread outward" — and what must result from this: the coming of our righteous Moshiach*.

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מיום החמישי, בו כותב ע"ד הקישוים שפוגש ושלפ"ד קשורים הם בזה שיודעים שלומד חסידות דא"ח וגם משפיע על אחרים בכגון דא.

והנה אם אמת נכון הדבר אשרי חלקו שזכה להפיץ מעינות דא"ח סתים דאורייתא באופן שהרגישו בזה גם בהלעומת זה ורוצים להפריעו. והרי זה עצמו צריך לעורר בו כחות ומרץ נוספים לעשות ככל האפשרי אשר המאור שבתורה יתגלה באופן דהולך ומתפשט והולך ועולה, שאין לך דבר גדול מזה. ואף שמובן שפעולת בנ"י צריכות להעשות בדרכי נועם דוקא ובדרכי שלום, הרי אין זה נוגע בגוף הענין, כ"א באופן הבאתו אל הפועל, ואחד מהפרטים בזה לא להגדיל לא בעיני עצמו וגם לא בעיני אחרים את ההעלמות וההסתרים. ויהי רצון שכל אלו שנדמה להם שרוצים להעלים על זה - יעמדו על האמת שאין זה רצונם האמיתי, כי בפנימיות נפשם כ"א מבנ"י רוצה להתקשר בפנימיות התורה כיון שרוצה להתקשר בפנימיות הקב"ה, שזוהי הדרך לזה וכמבואר בזהר הק' (חלק ג' עג, א).

כיון שנראה ממכתבו שעוד מחבריו שי' נתפסו על דברי תורת החסידות, שכתוב בה כי היא חייך ואורך ימיך, בטח ימצא אופן למסור גם להם את הנ"ל. ויהי רצון שתקוים בעגלא דידן ההבטחה דיפוצו מעינותיך חוצה ומה שבא לאח"ז - הוא משיח צדקנו.
