Greetings and blessings,

Although you do not speak of it in your letter, I hope that you are collecting not only material goods (note: funds for the Lubavitch Yeshivah) but also sparks of holiness that have received elevation — kindlings of "the lamp of Hashem, which is the soul of man" — adding light and vitality to that soul if it already burns, until it rises of its own accord. Success in this matter increases the success of material fundraising, as has already been explained many times.

Word has been sent from here of your arrival in the Holy Land. If the situation warrants, you shall remain there as long as necessary, for several points concerning Chabad in the Holy Land, may it be restored and rebuilt, must be clarified, strengthened, and encouraged. When it becomes known that you will observe everything with your own eyes and report here what you have seen, this will generate motivation and reveal deeper strengths. This is self-evident. Likewise, it would be good for you to verify with the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs — Rav P. Althuiz — what has become of the Chassidus* manuscripts that he intended to receive and send here.

אף שאינו מזכיר עד"ז במכתבו, תקותי כי עוסק הוא לא רק במגביות גשמיות אלא גם בירור ניצוצות הדלקת נר ה' נשמת אדם בתוספת אור וחיות באלו שכבר דולקת עד שתהא שלהבת עולה מאלי', והצלחה בזה מרבה ומוסיפה גם בהצלחה במגבית גשמית וכמדובר בזה כ"פ.
