Greetings and blessings,

I was pleased to hear news of you and your family through the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs — Rav Yosef HaLevi Weinberg. He also writes to me that lately your livelihood has not been at its best. You know the counsel given on this matter by our Sages: one must then give more tzedakah*, in a larger proportion. The more one does so, the better.

And one may fulfill the tzedakah* one has decided to give in several installments. The best time to do so — by writing a check or depositing cash in the appropriate place — is in the morning, before putting on Tefillin* and praying. If one does this with the utmost trust in Hashem, Who gave us the mitzvos* and told us regarding them that "you shall live by them" — He assured us that one receives vitality through them — one will be able to observe, in a positive way, the blessings of Hashem in all one's needs. And through tzedakah*, one can verify that the same applies to one's livelihood. I will be happy to hear your good news — that you are putting all of this into practice and that you see the blessings of Hashem in all your needs.
