Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter of 23 Menachem Av, in which you tell me what you have experienced. You conclude by asking me for a blessing to find a good match that will suit you. At an auspicious time, I will mention your name at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit protects us.

You should ask a Rav whether you are not required, for your part, to ask forgiveness in the presence of ten people from the woman from whom you divorced, may she rest in peace. Indeed, in general, when there is a disagreement and especially a separation, both parties bear responsibility. Moreover, there may have been, on your part, conduct toward her that went against halachah* and modesty.

You surely know of the three daily studies established by my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit protects us — the Chumash*, Tehillim*, and Tanya*, which are well known. At the very least, you will adopt them in the future.

במענה למכתבו מכ"ג במנחם, בו כותב את אשר עבר עליו ומסיים בבקשת ברכה לשידוך הגון וראוי.

ובעת רצון אזכירו על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע להנ"ל,

ומהנכון לשאול דעת רב באם אין מקום לבקשת מחילה מצדו בפני עשרה מישראל מגרושתו ע"ה.

כיון שעל פי רוב כשיש איזה חילוקי דיעות ובפרט לפירוד - לשני הצדדים איזה שייכות בזה, ובפרט שאפשר היתה בזה הנהגה מצדו בהנוגע אלי' היפך תורת והלכות צניעות.

בטח יודע משלשת השיעורים השוים לכל נפש מתקנת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר
