Igrot Kodesh · Letter 564 — Communal Love and Unity After the Histalkus

By the grace of Hashem,

Thirty days after the passing of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*[1],

To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself selflessly to communal needs,

I greet you and bless you,

I thank you, on behalf of the entire family and in my own name, for your letter of 19 Shevat and for your words of condolence and sympathy.

You are no doubt familiar with the statement of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, that 'the materiality of a Jew is spiritual.' The Admur HaZaken* writes, in his elaboration in chapter 27 of Iggeret HaKodesh*, that only a great love of Hashem[2] makes it possible to reveal this spirituality.

Let us therefore express the wish that, by staying close to one another and being animated by a sincere and great love, we may obtain the strength to carry out the actions desired by my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, and to bring them to completion.

I conclude by wishing that wisdom multiply with age, and that together we all witness the true and complete redemption, through our righteous Mashiach*, very soon and in our days.

בטח ידועים לו דברי כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ כי "אידישע גשמיות איז רוחניות", וכ"ק אדמו"ר הזקן כותב (ביאור, אגה"ק כ"ז) כי המשכת כל רוחניות אינה אלא ע"י אהבה רבה. נקוה איפוא כי על ידי זה שנעמוד כלנו בהתקרבות ואהבה רבה אמתית נמשיך אלינו כח להוציא לפועל כל אותם הענינים אשר רצונו של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ שיצאו לפועל טוב על ידינו.

אסיים בברכת עוד ינובון בשיבה טובה, וכלנו יחד נזכה לגאולה האמתית והשלימה על ידי משיח צדקנו בב"א
