To the great Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, Rav Naftali (note: Rav N. Gluskin),

Greetings and blessings,

I have duly received your letter from Rosh Chodesh* Menachem Av, and at an auspicious time I will mention at the resting place (note: the Ohel of the Frierdiker Rebbe) all those whom you cite in this correspondence. I thank you for your remark regarding the publication of the Laws of Torah* Study by the Alter Rebbe*. For a long time I had been thinking of preparing a separate edition of this work, and how much more must this be done now that this remark has been made. The merit of all depends upon those who make such remarks.

May Hashem grant that in the future, the content of your letters have solely as their subject the magnification and adornment of Torah* — its revealed teaching and its hidden dimension — which form a single whole. Indeed, their names are significant, as one speaks of the superficial dimension and the inner dimension (note: of the Torah), of the body and the soul (note: of the Torah).

ויה"ר שמכאן ולהבא יהי' תוכן מכתביו רק בענינים דלהגדיל תורה ולהאדיר, תורת הנגלה ותורת הנסתר אשר חד הם, שהרי שמא מלתא הוא שנקראים הם חיצוניות ופנימיות, גופא ונשמתא.
