Greetings and blessings,

You have informed me of the condition of your wife, and here is my response. May Hashem grant that the days of her pregnancy proceed well, be easy, and that she give birth in due time and with ease.

I send you my respects and blessing to give good news, to tell me that soon these days (note: of commemoration of the Temple's destruction) will be transformed into joy and gladness, for the Consoler (note: Menachem, the first part of the name of this month) will come to liberate us. Then, the souls clothed in bodies will know a good life and peace.

I have just received your second letter. The merit of supporting (note: through the giving of tzedakah*) Torah*, in particular that which is taught publicly, will protect this person (note: who is suffering from a kidney ailment) in all his needs. The holy Zohar*, volume 3, page 53b, says that through this one attains prophecy, the attributes of Victory, Netzach*, and Submission, Hod* (note: both of which are the source of prophecy), and the "kidneys that counsel." You should consult, at this reference, the note of Rabbi Chaim Vital*, as well as the Pardes*, Gate of the Receptacles, under the entry "kidneys."

עתה נתקבלה יקרתו השני' - וזכות תמכין דאורייתא ובפרט ת"ת דרבים, תעמוד ל... בהמצטרך לו. וכזוה"ק (ח"ג נג, ב) דזכי לנביאי, נצח והוד כליות יועצות (עיי"ש הג' מהרח"ו, פרדס שעה"כ מע' כליות).
