By the grace of Hashem,

Greetings and blessings,

I received your letter with pleasure, since you bring me tidings of peace. Indeed, you have multiplied peace in the world and, all the more so, among the scholars of Torah*. And one mitzvah* draws another, since bringing good news is itself a mitzvah*. You thus put into practice the great principle of the Torah*, "You shall love your fellow as yourself." In this case, the other good news you brought me concerned the success of the medical treatment undergone by your son-in-law, the Rav Shlita*.

May Hashem grant that from now on you know only good — visible and tangible good. Concerning your health, healing will come to you directly from Hashem, as it is stated: "For I am Hashem Who heals you" (note: see also letter no. 5197) — which means "I will not place upon you" the illness (note: the Rebbe notes: "According to the plain meaning of this verse, as well as the commentary of Rashi* and the Baal HaTurim* on the Torah. One therefore cannot raise an objection from the Midrash* stated in Tractate Sanhedrin* 101a"), from the outset (note: see also letter no. 4917). And it is known (note: the Rebbe cites Kehillas Yaakov* by the author of the Melo HaRoim*, under the entry "healing") that the initial letters of this verse (note: see also letter no. 3270) form the word Arikh*, meaning "long." It is regarding this that it is said: "Cause Your length to sprout promptly, through the almonds which are the best of all — those of Aharon* the High Priest."

I conclude with what is timely — the 12th and 13th of Tammuz* which are approaching, that is, the Festival of Liberation of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us. May we be liberated, together with all of Israel, from everything that disturbs and troubles, so that we may spread and strengthen Judaism in general, and Chassidus* in particular, in ever-increasing measure.

ויהי רצון אשר מכאן ולהבא אך טוב בטוב הנראה והנגלה יבשר, ובעניני בריאות יהי' דוקא ע"ד רפואתו של הקב"ה וכמ"ש כי אני ה' רופאך ובמילא לא אשים עליך מעיקרא*, וידוע** שהוא ר"ת אריך ע"ז נאמר ארוכתך מהרה תצמח שקדים הטובים מכל שקד דאהרן כהנא רבא.

ואחתום מעניניא דיומיא אילו י"ב וי"ג תמוז הבע"ל חג הגאולה של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, שיהי' לנו גאולה בתכ"י מכל ענינים המבלבלים ומטרידים ויוכלו לעשות בהפצת היהדות והחזקתה בכלל והחזקת עניני חסידות והפצתם ביחוד במדה ההולכת וגדלה.
