By the grace of Hashem,

Greetings and blessings,

I have duly received your letter from the eve of Shabbos* (note: this same letter was sent to several individuals). Of course, I will accede to your request and will mention your names at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us. And may Hashem grant that his merit protect us not merely in a superficial manner, but also in depth — regarding Torah* and mitzvos* in general, and as the central focus, the spreading of the wellsprings (note: of Chassidus*) outward, which is the need and necessity of the hour.

It is certain that everyone can act in this regard, especially those who had the merit that he saw them (note: the Frierdiker Rebbe*). Similarly, our Sages* describe for us the effect that the sight of the staff of Rabbi Meir* had (note: the Rebbe cites Yerushalmi, Tractate Beitza ch. 5 par. 2, Tractate Moed Katan ch. 3 par. 1). Moreover, this year we celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of the liberation, and it was explained during the Chassidic* farbrengen* of the Shabbos* that blessed the month of Tammuz* the importance of the number thirty (note: see Likkutei Sichos* vol. 2, p. 591). I enclose a brief summary of that explanation.
