Greetings and blessings,

After a long interruption, I have received your letter of 5 Tammuz*, with its contents. You explain this interruption by the impossibility in which you found yourself of reporting positive qualities. It is clear that this makes the question all the stronger. Our holy Torah* says that each day must have its specific content, as it is stated: "Days were created" — and one must introduce the Oneness of Hashem into them by filling them with Torah* and mitzvos* content specifically linked to each day.

May Hashem bring it about that this be so in the future. Moreover, you know that the Torah*, in giving a command, also provides the strength and the assurance that ultimately it will indeed be fulfilled. For this reason, our holy books explain, the injunctions of the Torah* are also formulated as promises. Thus, "You shall love" is at once a command and a pledge. Now, love is the root of all two hundred and forty-eight positive commandments, among which fear is also included.

You mention the veins in the legs of your wife, may she live long. I am surprised that you do not specify whether the doctor has prescribed rubber stockings for her, or whether he has asked her to frequently interrupt her walking or standing in order to lie down for a few moments.

May Hashem grant that her pregnancy proceed well, that it be easy, and that she give birth in due time and with ease.

לאחרי הפסק ארוך נתקבל מכתבו מה' תמוז עם המוסגר בו, ובמה שכותב סיבת ההפסק, מפני שלא יכול להגיד מעלות וכו' מובן שזה עוד מגדיל התמי' שהרי ידוע ציווי תוה"ק כל יומא ויומא עביד עבידתי' וכמש"נ ימים יוצרו ולוא אחד בהם, אשר כל יום צ"ל ממולא בתוכן דתורה ומצות המיוחד ליום זה.

ויהי רצון שעכ"פ מכאן ולהבא יהי' ע"פ הנ"ל, ובפרט שידוע שעצם הענין שהתורה מצוה, ה"ז גם נתינת כח והבטחה אשר סו"ס יהי' כן וכמבואר בספרים שזהו ג"כ הטעם שכל המצות שבתורה הם גם לשון הבטחה, וכמו ואהבת גו' (שהאהבה היא שרש לכל רמ"ח מצות עשה שמהם היא גם מצות היראה שהיא שרש לשס"ה ל"ת) לשון ציווי וגם לשון הבטחה, סופך לאהוב.

במ"ש אודות גידי הרגלים של זוגתו שתליט"א. - לפלא שאינו מזכיר אם ציוה הרופא ללבוש פוזמקים של ראבער וכן אשר תפסיק תכופות בהילוכה או בעמידתה ותשכב לנוח איזה רגעים.

והשי"ת ימלא ימי הריון זוגתו תחי' כשורה ובנקל ותלד זחו"ק בעתה ובזמנה כשורה ובקל.

בברכת חג הגאולה שבודאי ישתתף בהתועדות זו ולבשו"ט בכל האמור.
