Greetings and blessings,

I am replying to your letter of 29 Sivan*, in which you tell me that you have been offered the opportunity to teach for four years (note: in lieu of military service; see also letter no. 5593).

This practice has just been introduced in recent weeks, and its implementation depends on very many points of detail. You should therefore present your concerns to the administration of the Yeshiva* Tomchei Temimim* of Lod, for which you work. The directors, for their part, will consult those of the Ohalei Yosef Yitzchak* Lubavitch* network in the Holy Land. You shall follow their instructions.

You will surely participate in the Chassidic* farbrengen* for the Festival of Liberation (note: of the Frierdiker Rebbe* from Soviet imprisonment) of 12 and 13 Tammuz*, so that the spreading of the wellsprings (note: of Chassidus*) outward may be increased to the greatest extent possible. May Hashem grant you success.

You ask me about the Sefer HaYashar* (note: the recipient asked who its author is and whether this work is trustworthy in all that it reports). You will see what the Shem HaGedolim* of the Chida* says about it, under that entry. You pose the same question about the Sefer Yosifon*. You know that modifications and falsifications have been introduced into it. Therefore, the critical analysis of a specialist in this field is required. In general, our Sages*, regarding such questions, say in Tractate Shabbos* 140b: "Rather than obtaining vegetables, it is preferable to receive meat." Moreover, it is not even certain that what we have here constitutes vegetables.

הנה כיון שהענין נתחדש רק בשבועות האחרונים ותלוי בכמה וכמה פרטים ופרטי פרטים, הרי יציע ספיקותיו לפני הנהלת ישיבת תומכי תמימים דלוד בה עובד, ובטח יתייעצו הם מצדם בזה עם הנהלת בתי ספר הרשת אהלי יוסף יצחק ליובאוויטש אשר באה"ק ת"ו ויעשה כהוראתם.

בטח ישתתף בהתועדות חג הגאולה י"ב וי"ג תמוז באופן שיתוסף בהפצת המעינות חוצה ככל האפשרי והשי"ת יצליחו.
