To the great Rav*, the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem* and devotes himself to communal needs, Rav* Nachum Shmaryahu (note: Rav N.Sh. Sosonkin of Jerusalem; see also letter no. 4335),

I greet you and bless you,

I have duly received your letter of 26 Sivan* and I thank you very much for the good news constituted by the report regarding the Chassidic* discourses recited in the synagogues.

You tell me that you asked the Chassid*, Rav* M. Weber (note: Rav Chaim Moshe Weber, the mashpia* of Toras Emes*, the Lubavitch* Yeshivah* of Jerusalem; see also letter no. 5385) to prepare the students of Toras Emes* to recite discourses in this manner. You say this has not yet been followed through, and I am surprised. Indeed, it had been agreed that all students of the upper classes of Toras Emes* would recite Chassidic* discourses every Shabbos*. Of course, it is not necessary that they do so inside the Yeshivah* building. On the contrary, they must be accustomed to speaking in public, and reciting these discourses is a good way to achieve this. No doubt you will approach Rav* Weber once again and find the words to ensure that this practice is established.

You allude to a person who is very difficult to marry. This is surely no more difficult than the splitting of the Red Sea. Now, it is precisely to this that our Sages compare marriage — and yet they command it. And an injunction of the Torah* is also a force granted to put it into practice, as various Chassidic* texts explain. In this sense, every injunction is also an assurance.

A suitable program is surely being prepared for the celebration of the liberation (note: of the Frierdiker Rebbe from Soviet imprisonment) of 12 and 13 Tammuz*, which is approaching, especially since this year we celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of this liberation.

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מכ"ו סיון, ות"ח ת"ח על הבשורה טובה ודו"ח מחזרת מאמרי דא"ח בבתי הכנסיות.

ובמ"ש שדבר עם הרה"ח ר"מ וובר שי' שיכין מתלמידי תו"א מסוגלים להנ"ל, לפלא שכותב שעדיין לא יצא לפועל... ואף שהמדובר הי' בכלל שכל התלמידים מכתות העלינוות של תו"א יחזרו דא"ח מדי שבת בשבתו, מובן שלאו דוקא מוכרח הדבר להיות בבנין הישיבה ואדרבה יש להרגילם לאימתא דצבורא, שלזה מסוגלת החזרה בביהכ"נ וכיו"ב, ובטח יתדבר עם הנ"ל עוד הפעם בהענין וימצא אותיות מסבירות עד שיבוא הדבר לפועל.

במ"ש אודות... שי' שקשה מאד לזווגו, בודאי אינו קשה יותר מקרי"ס והרי אמרו רז"ל זה בהנוגע לכל שידוך וביחד עם זה ציוו על הענין, וציווי התורה ה"ז גם נתינת כח, וכמדובר בכ"מ בדא"ח בלשון הציווים שהם גם לשון הבטחה.

בודאי מכינים תכנית מתאימה לחגיגת חג הגאולה י"ב וי"ג תמוז הבע"ל ובפרט אשר השנה היא תקופת השלשים שנה ליום הגאולה בפעם הראשונה.
