I am responding to your letter and to what was enclosed — a medical opinion concerning your son, whom Hashem should grant long life, which I am returning to you herewith.

The prescribed treatment should be continued. It might be good to point out to the doctor that, given the reasons cited to explain his emotional state, it would be particularly beneficial to give him the means of helping those who are weaker than himself. He could lead them, or serve as the monitor of his class — for example, to organize the recreational Shabbos* afternoons. In this way, he will be able to gain self-confidence.

יש להמשיך בהטפול שהציעו, ואפשר כדאי לעורר את הרופא שלכאורה ע"פ המבואר, סיבת מצב רוחו, הי' מועיל ביותר באם היו ממציאים לו האפשריות לעזור לחלשים הימנו להיות מנהיגם או מדריך בכתה כמו מסיבת שבת וכיו"ב שזה הי' מגדיל האמון בעצמו וכו'...
