Greetings and blessings,
I am responding to your letter, in which you inquire about what is stated in the first chapter of the holy Tanya*, the assertion that the souls of the idolatrous nations emanate from the three forces of total impurity (shalosh kelipos hatmeios*). You object that they are nonetheless obligated to observe the seven commandments (note: of the descendants of Noach; they must therefore possess some good, in order to be able to fulfill them).
Chassidus* explains that the souls of the righteous among the nations emanate from the good within Kelipas Nogah* (note: the force of impurity that retains the possibility of being integrated into the good). On this subject, you should consult the collection of commentaries (note: the Rebbe notes at the bottom: 'Based on what is explained in the Siddur of the Alter Rebbe, at the Gate of the Festival of Matzos') of the great Rav and Chassid, the tzaddik*, Rabbi Hillel of Paritch, page 47d, and the Rambam*, Laws of Kings, end of chapter 8, who states that a non-Jew who commits to fulfilling the seven commandments is considered a righteous person among the nations.
Regarding converts, see Tractate Shabbos 146a, which states that their mazal* (note: their soul, being still in the supernal realm) was present at Mount Sinai (note: and partook in the giving of the Torah). Also consult the Midbar Kedemos of the Chida*, under the entry "converts."
You mention your engagement and tell me that you have an older brother. You must ask him to sincerely forgive you (note: for preceding him in marriage). You may then consider the match being proposed to you.
You surely observe the three daily studies applicable to everyone, instituted by my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit protects us — pertaining to the Chumash*, Tehillim*, and Tanya, which are well known. In addition, from time to time, you no doubt intensify your study of Chassidus.

הנה מבואר בדא"ח אשר נפשות חסידי או"ה [ה]ם מטוב שבקליפת נוגה, ראה לקוטי באורים* לרה"ג הרה"ח והרה"צ כו' הר"ה מפאריטש מז עמוד ד', וברמב"ם הלכות מלכים סוף פרק ח' שהמקבל שבע מצות ה"ז מחסידי אוה"ע.
