By the grace of Hashem,
13 Tishrei* 5710,
To the great Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,
Rav E. E. Hacohen[1],
I greet and bless you,
I received your letter today and, in accordance with your request, I transmitted your petition and your manuscript to the Rebbe*.
Today is the Hilulah* of the Rebbe Maharach* and this moment is therefore auspicious. Enclosed please find the booklet published on the occasion of 13 Tishrei* and the festival of Sukkot*, as well as a receipt.
On the occasion of Sukkot*, which is approaching, I would like to wish you a joyous festival — a triple joy:
A) It is said that 'you shall serve Hashem your Lord with joy and enthusiasm,' and this applies to all the Mitzvot*[2].
B) It is said that 'the festivals are joyous,' which is true of all festivals.
C) It is, finally, the time of our joy.
May Hashem bring it about that this triple cord cannot be broken and that the joy continues throughout the entire year.
Moreover, the festival of Sukkot* is described by the verse 'His right hand embraces me'[3]. This corresponds to the pillars of cloud[4]. And both[5] are found in a Kohen*[6].

מכתבו קבלתי היום, וכבקשתו, מסרתי בקשתו וגכת"י בהיכל פנימה.
והיום - הוא יום הילולא של כ"ק אדמו"ר מהר"ש שהוא עת רצון, מוסג"פ הקונטרס לי"ג תשרי וחה"ס, וקבלה.
ולקראת חה"ס הבע"ל, אביע איחולי לחג שמח, שמחה משולשת:
א) עבדת ה"א בשמחה ובטוב לבב, כבכל המצוות.
ב) מועדים לשמחה, כבכל המועדים.
ג) זמן שמחתנו.
ויה"ר שחוט משולש זה לא ינתק, ותומשך השמחה על כל השנה כולה.
ולהעיר דסוכות הוא וימינו תחבקני, כמבואר ג"כ במאמר, והם כנגד ענני הכבוד, ששני ענינים אלו הם בבחינת כהן.
