To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem*

and bears a sacred mission,

Rav Avraham* (see note 1),

Greetings and blessings,

After a long interruption, I have received your letter of 23 Teves* and the request for a blessing that followed it. I read with pleasure that you are observing the fruit of your effort, since you are providing an education based on sacred values in an institution of my father-in-law, the Rebbe.

May Hashem grant that this merit protect you, together with all the members of your family, so that you may receive the satisfaction of all your needs, material and spiritual.

It is surely unnecessary to emphasize to you that one must strengthen the ties with the soldiers regarding everything that concerns the Torah and the mitzvos*. First of all, it is emphasized regarding every Jew that an effort is never in vain. Moreover, this is, in this domain (see note 2), even more important, for an additional commandment is given that does not apply to other men: "Your camp shall be holy." Finally, they (see note 3) find themselves in an environment pervaded by submission, by obedience to orders without questioning, without asking the reason — as has been explained many times (see note 4).

At a propitious moment, I will mention all those you cite in your letter at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit protects us — regarding all of this and also concerning your sacred mission, education in Jewish values, which is, furthermore, the channel revealing the blessings of Hashem in all your needs and those of the members of your family.

לאחרי הפסק ארוך נתקבל מכתבו מכ"ג טבת והפ"נ שלאחריו, ונעם לי לקרות בו מאשר רואה פרי טוב בעמלו בחינוך על טהרת הקדש במוסדו של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, ויהי רצון שזכות זה יעמוד לו ולכל בני ביתו שיחיו בהמצטרך להם בגשמיות וברוחניות.

בודאי למותר לעוררו ע"ד הידוק הקשרים בעניני תורה ומצות עם החיילים, שנוסף על הכלל ביחס לכאו"א חזקה לתעמולה שאינה חוזרת ריקם, הרי בהנ"ל חשוב הדבר עוד יותר כיון שהוזהרו ביחוד ובהוספה על סתם בנ"א, והי' מחנך קדוש, ונוסף על הנקודה שהנ"ל נמצאים באוירה חדורה הענין של קבלת עול ומלוי פקודות ללא שאלת כל טעם בזה וכמבואר באריכות כ"פ...

בעת רצון אזכיר את כל אלו שכותב במכתבו על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע בהנוגע לכל הנ"ל וכן בהנוגע בעבודתו בקדש בחינוך על טהרת הקדש שזהו גם כן הצנור להמשכת ברכות השי"ת בהמצטרך לו ולכל ב"ב שיחיו.
