Blessings and greetings,

I have just received your letter of 5 Shevat, together with what was enclosed.

You know what the Gemara* says about dreams. A person sees in them what occupied his thoughts during the course of the day. If it concerns a shepherd of Israel (see note 1), it must be my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit protects us. His purpose is to bring good to every Jew, materially and spiritually. It is therefore assuredly a good dream.

This dream announces that your situation will be even better in all that concerns you. Above all, you and your wife will educate your son and your daughter on the path of Yiddishkeit* and Chassidus*. You will derive much satisfaction from them — Jewish and Chassidic satisfaction — for long days and good years, in perfect health and with joy.

The more one transmits to children Jewish values, warmth, and enthusiasm — which are the contribution of Chassidus — the greater the satisfaction one derives from them, and above all, one ensures that they are truly happy.

May the merit of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose hilula* will be this Shabbos* (see note 2) — that of the Song of the Sea — protect, and he will surely protect, all those who had the privilege of receiving his holy blessings, in all their needs.

I enclose one of the latest publications, which is a reprint, specially for this Shabbos of the Song of the Sea (see note 3). This will surely interest your wife, may Hashem* grant her long life.
