To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem*

and devotes himself to communal needs,

Rav A. S.* (see note 1),

Greetings and blessings,

After a long interruption, I was pleased to receive your letter of 19 Teves, together with what was enclosed. I thank you for having described to me the Chassidic farbrengen* of 19 Kislev* (see note 2), the day of our deliverance and the liberation of our souls.

Surely you will do what is necessary to put into practice the decisions that were taken and, more broadly, so that the inspiration of the Rosh Hashanah* of Chassidus leads to action throughout the entire year. As you know, our master was accustomed to say on 19 Kislev: "May you be inscribed and sealed for a good year, in the study and the ways of Chassidus."

If this is the case in general, how much more so does it apply to decisions and inspiration resulting from a Chassidic farbrengen in which several dozen Jews participated — "a holy assembly" — in a holy place situated in the Holy Land.

It is evident that all those who are active in this matter and who subsequently intervene so that the decisions are effectively implemented are the first to receive satisfaction of all their needs, including in their communal activity, which can expand ever more, from one stage to the next.

What has just been said strengthens my conviction that you are making all the necessary preparations for the day of the hilula* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, which will be on 10 Shevat*. Moreover, this year that day will fall on Shabbos*, that of the crossing of the sea (see note 3), when a song was sung to Hashem, "for He is exalted," demonstrating also that "they will awaken and rejoice, those who rest beneath the earth," and he himself (see note 4) will be among them. For our Sages deduce all of this from the verse: "Then Moshe* will sing (see note 5)," as Rashi* states in his commentary.

And it is known that a true leader of the Jewish people, a faithful shepherd, himself bears the name Moshe, since "there is, in every generation, an equivalent of Moshe."

With my blessing to convey good tidings of all this, greeting all those who participate in these farbrengens and those who will do so on the day of the hilula, 10 Shevat, which approaches — for us and for all Israel, for the good,

במענה על מכתבה מיום ב׳ בו כותבת אודות מצב רוחה ובריאותה,

ומזכירה גם אודות מעבר לדירה חדשה ,ומביטה על כך כעל דבר קשה.

מפליא אותי מאוד ,בזכרי מה שכתבה פעם אודות דירתם

הנוכחית ,זה הי׳ צריך לשמש לה כהוכחה שהמעבר טוב עבורה ועבור

בעלה שי׳ ,ולכן יש להיות שמחים מכך .והקשיים שרואה בנוגע לריהוט

הלא מודרני או ריהוט לא טוב ,אין לזה כל יחס לעומת הטובה שבמעבר

מהשכונה הנוכחית ,וודאי שבמשך הזמן תשיג שם מכרות ,ובהמשך גם

ידידות.

בכלל אצל יהודים ,איש או אשה ,כשנמצאים בחודש אדר

ומתקרבים לפסח ,ששני חודשים אלו הם ברי־מזל במידה הגדולה

ביותר לכל יהודי היכן שלא יהי׳ ,יש להודות כל יום להשם יתברך על

החסד שעשה עד עתה ,ולהיות בטוח שגם להבא ,הוא ~ ברוך הוא ,יראה

את חסדו ,שאז זוכים לראות זאת גם בעיני בשר ובאופנים רבים.

מה שכותבת אודות בדידות ,הנני מקוה שנוטלת חלק בעבודת

ארגון נשים וכד׳ ,הקשורה בעבודה טובה למען יהדות ומוסדות

יהודיים ,ובטח הרב הכט שי׳ יכול לייעץ לה בזה.

הנני מקוה שהשורות הנ״ל יספיקו להוכיח לה ,ובקלות ,את

החסדים הגדולים של השם יתברך ,שהיתה לה הזכות לחנך ילדים

טובים ולקבל נחת מהם ומנכדים ,שתהי׳ אפשרות לעשות עבור יהדות

כאשר רק רוצים ,שמזה מובן שלא זו בלבד שאין כל יסוד להיות במצב

רוח לא טוב ,אלא אדרבה ,עלי׳ להיות בשמחה מהעבר וגם מההוה ועוד

יותר מהעתיד.
