pious community of Agadir,

may Hashem guard and protect you,

Extensive greetings and blessings,

I received with pleasure your letter of December 17, announcing good and joyful news — that of the construction, now completed, of the luxurious mikveh*, in which a decisive role was played by the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, full of eagerness, one of our fine students, Rav Azriel Shaykin (see note 1). You have also had the merit of witnessing the completion of this work and of inaugurating the mikveh building on 8 Teves.

May Hashem grant that this inauguration serve as a positive introduction to the one that will be deep and essential — the adoption (see note 2) by Jewish women of the laws of family purity (taharas hamishpachah*), in the finest manner, and their dissemination in every Jewish home in your city, without any exception.

You know the statement of our Sages that "purity leads to holiness, holiness to virtue, and virtue to divine inspiration." And may there be fulfilled, for you and for all the house of Israel, the words of the verse: "I will sprinkle pure waters upon you and you will be purified. I will place My spirit in you. You will be My people and I will be your Elokim" — with the coming of the righteous redeemer, very soon and in our days.

בנועם קבלתי מכתבם מה-17 בדצמבר עם הבשורה טובה ומשמחת על דבר גמר הבנין של המקוה הטהורה ומהודרה, ואשר הרה"ח וו"ח אי"א בעל מרץ מטובי תלמידינו הרב עזריאל שי' חייקין הי' הרוח החי' במפעל הרם הזה. גם זכו לברך על המוגמר בחנוכת בנין המקוה בשמיני לחודש טבת.

ויהי רצון מקדם שמייא שעם חנוכת הבנין תבוא התחלה טובה לחנוכה פנימית ועקרית, הוא חינוך נשי ובנות ישראל בשמירת דיני טהרת המשפחה בהידור והפצתם בכל בית יהודי במחנם הט' אין יוצאת מהכלל.

וידוע מאמר חכמינו ז"ל: "טהרה מביאה לידי... קדושה... לידי חסידות... לידי רוח הקדש", ויתקיים בהם ובכל בית ישראל מקרא שכתוב "וזרקתי עליכם מים טהורים וטהרתם... ואת רוחי אתן בקרבכם... והייתם לי לעם ואנכי אהי' לכם לאלקים", בביאת גואל צדק במהרה בימינו.
