To the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem

and devotes himself to communal needs,

Greetings and blessings,

After an interruption, I received with pleasure your letter of the 17th (see note 2) of Teves. You briefly describe the study program of the various classes (see note 3) and you tell me that the Chassidic farbrengen* (see note 4) went very well, which surely means that it achieved its deep purpose and that consequently, its effect will be felt concretely, throughout the year.

Moreover, this Chassidic farbrengen was that of the Rosh Hashanah* of Chassidus*. And the head (see note 5) carries within it all the limbs of the body and vivifies them. This is self-evident.

May Hashem grant that this process increase, in accordance with the teaching of Chanukah*, which has just concluded, when one adds, each day, a candle, a light, emanating from pure oil, "from sunset," as stated in the Midrash* Shemos Rabbah*, chapter 15, paragraph 6, "at the door of his house, toward the outside."

The request for a blessing expressed in your letter will be read, at a propitious moment, at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, of blessed memory.

לאחרי הפסק נעם לי לקבל מכתבו מטו"ב טבת, בו כותב ראשי פרקים מסדרי הלימודים בכתות וכן אשר ההתועדות היתה בכי טוב ובודאי גם פנימית הכוונה נכללת בזה, זאת אומרת שתהי' רישומה ניכר בכל ימות השנה בהנוגע לפועל ובפרט ההתועדות דראש השנה לחסידות אשר הראש כולל בתוכו כל האברים וממשיך חיות לכל האברים, וק"ל. ויה"ר שיהי' באופן דמוסיף והולך וכהוראת ימי חנוכה דאזלינן דמוסיף והולך מיום ליום בנר ואור הבא משמן טהור משתשקע החמה (שמ"ר פט"ו, ו) ועל פתח ביתו מבחוץ.
