Blessings and greetings,
I am responding to your letter. Certainly, you may continue to write to me about this matter. This is in no way contrary to proper conduct, Heaven forbid. The Creator of the world will bless you so that the content of your future letters will be exclusively positive.
At a propitious moment, I will mention your name, those of your husband and your children, at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, of blessed memory, so that you may obtain fulfillment of your needs, material and spiritual. Surely the blessings that Hashem grants to each of you will thereby be increased.
You write that you are sometimes sad. This is not in accordance with the teaching of our Torah*, the Torah of life, which enjoins every Jewish man and every Jewish woman: "Serve Hashem with joy." Even if a person is aware of having done what he should not have done, he should nevertheless strengthen his trust in the One Who gives the Torah and commands the mitzvah*. The Creator will give him the strength to achieve teshuvah* and to adopt conduct in accordance with His Will.
Certainly, one must also regret these wrongful actions, but without becoming sad over them. If one truly makes an effort in this direction, one will accomplish this teshuvah* with all the depth of one's heart and will rectify these transgressions.
A woman who is a mother, a homemaker, must fulfill these tasks as the Torah defines them. In this way, she strengthens the health of her husband, of her children, and her own. It is particularly important that she conduct herself with modesty (tznius*), that she observe the laws of family purity (taharas hamishpachah*), the kashrus* of food, and that she provide education to her children when they are at home.
But as I have said, all of this must be accomplished joyfully, with the conviction that the Creator of the world grants His Providence and extends His help in all areas.
With my blessing to convey good tidings of all this,
For the Rebbe, shlita*,
