To the participants at the gathering of 7 Teves*
for the strengthening of the Talmud Torah* of Toronto,
may Hashem grant you long life,
Greetings and blessings,
I read with pleasure your letter informing me of your discussions concerning the Talmud Torah* Beis Yosef*. You have designated a moral committee and also an executive committee to direct it.
May Hashem grant that you receive these responsibilities at a good and fruitful time, even though, as our Sages say, "all beginnings are difficult." You will therefore not be affected by the difficulties. On the contrary, these will awaken in you increased strength and enthusiasm to direct the work in accordance with what it must deeply be. In this way, these difficulties will diminish more and more.
May Hashem grant you success, much sooner and much more broadly than you imagine.
As a contribution to these good deeds — at least symbolic, due to the geographic distance — and in accordance with your decision to open a bank account in order to accumulate a capital of three thousand dollars, I enclose herewith a check, which will be my contribution to this fund.
