To the leaders of Kfar Chabad*,
may Hashem grant you long life,

Greetings and blessings,

To my surprise and sorrow, I have received information — for the moment only indirectly (see note 1) — according to which the chassidic* gathering on the luminous day of Yud-Tes Kislev* (see note 2), that of our deliverance and the freedom of our souls, was not taken advantage of to the fullest extent possible. Thus, it was noted that the invitees were fewer, that the gathering lasted less time.

I suggested that the general situation (see note 3) was no doubt the cause of all this, but I was told that the gathering was not announced in the newspapers, that fewer invitations were presumably sent.

If this information is verified, you will understand my surprise and sorrow. Indeed, the success of this gathering has both spiritual and material significance, since it allows one to make connections and maintain good relations, as the experience of past years has shown.

Certainly, it is useless to complain about the past. Nevertheless, I would like to know if this description is accurate. If so, you will surely take all the necessary measures to ensure that this does not happen again in the future, on the propitious days and festivals that come to us, among all of Yisrael*, for peace and for blessing.

שלום וברכה!

לתמהוני וגם לצערי, הגיעוני ידיעות, אף כי לע"ע רק מן הצד, אשר לא ניצלו כפי האפשרי ההתועדות דיום הבהיר י"ט כסלו גאולתנו ופדות נפשנו, ז. א. שהי' ניכר גרעון במספר האורחים וכן באריכות זמן ההתועדות וכו'. ולהשאלה שבטח המצב הכללי גרם להנ"ל, ענוני שלא היו מודעות במכ"ע ע"ד ההתועדות, כן שכנראה מיעטו בשילוח הזמנות ועוד ועוד. ואם נכונה השמועה האמורה - מובנת הפליאה וגם הצער שהרי הצלחת התועדות זו וכיו"ב - זהו ענין רוחני וגם גשמי, כוונתי שמחזקים ההיכירות ומשפרים היחס וכו', וכמוש הראה הנסיון דשנים שעברו. ואף שלכאורה ה"ז בגדר דאין צועקין על העבר, בכ"ז אתענין לדעת אם תיאור הנ"ל מתאים הוא, שאז בודאי ינקטו באמצעים המתאימים למנוע תופעה זו בעתיד, ביומי דפגרא ומועדים הבאים לקראתנו בתכ"י לשלום ולברכה.
