Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter from this Wednesday.

It is quite evident that there is no reason to be worried about how you will earn your livelihood. The holy books explain that such worry is not only useless but, on the contrary, compromises material sustenance, making it more difficult — all the more so when the receptacle already exists.

You write to me that on Chanukah* you turned nineteen, and in my opinion, you must therefore take the firm resolution to study for at least one more year, with ardor and constancy, for long hours, without thinking about anything else. Naturally, this includes both the revealed dimension of the Torah* and Chassidus*, which strengthens trust in Hashem, faith, and enthusiasm for Torah* and mitzvos*.

Then, when Rosh Hashanah* and the month of Tishrei* arrive, it will be time to ask what is appropriate to do next. May Hashem grant you success.

No doubt you maintain the three well-known studies of Chumash*, Tehillim*, and Tanya*. If not, you will adopt them from now on.
