Greetings and blessings,

I have duly received your letter of 21 Kislev*, in which you mention the expansion of the building (see note 1), which will undoubtedly also develop, quantitatively and qualitatively, what takes place inside this building. I am alluding, of course, to the students, the teachers, and the dean of the yeshivah*.

May Hashem grant that you know success in an ever-increasing manner, although the sun has set (see note 2) and we find ourselves in this bitter and deeply dark exile. Indeed, Chanukah* emphasizes that one must make a daily addition of a candle, a light originating from pure oil.

With my blessing,

I have just received your letter of the first day of Rosh Chodesh*. At its conclusion, I took note of your decision. No doubt it was made jointly with your wife. Indeed, you wish to name the son that Hashem will grant you Yosef Yitzchak* (see note 3). He will have long days and good years.

May Hashem grant that the wish of your heart be soon fulfilled. You will educate him to Torah*, to the chuppah*, and to good deeds, so that he be a chassid*, fearing Hashem and a Torah* scholar.
