Greetings and blessings,
I am responding to your letter, in which you briefly describe what happened to you. And you adopt a positive conclusion, since you tell me that you are healed, that your condition has improved. You ask me how to progress in the study of Torah*.
It is clear that each student of the yeshivah* (see note 1) must adopt his own organization. In this regard, it is particularly important to have a study partner (see note 2). Indeed, bonding with friends is one of the means of acquiring the Torah*, as the Mishnah* specifies.
It would be good, in the time you have available, to establish a study of the laws that are necessary for daily life. For the most part, these are found in the Shulchan Aruch*, section Orach Chaim*.
And, in order to know as quickly as possible what conduct to adopt, you will first study these laws very briefly, using, for example, an abridged Shulchan Aruch* or the Derech Chaim*, which is printed in several siddurim*. You will repeat this study several times, until you know these laws well, for "the deed is essential."
You surely know the custom of reciting Tehillim*, according to their monthly division, each day, after the morning prayer. You will adopt this practice, at least from now on. Similarly, each weekday, before the morning prayer, you will give a few coins to tzedakah*.

במענה על מכתבו, בו כותב ראשי פרקים מאשר עבר עליו ומסיים בטוב אשר נתרפא והוטב המצב ושואל עצה איך להתקדם בת"ת.
ומובן שכל אחד הלומד בישיבה צריך להתאים סדרו לסדרי הישיבה, ובזה ג"כ ההנהגה הכי נחוצה ללמוד בחברותא והרי דבוק חברים הוא מהמעלות בה התורה נקנית כדבר משנה, ומהנכון שבזמנים שלו יקבע שיעור לימוד בהלכות הצריכות בחיי היום יומים אשר רובם ככולם הם בשו"ע חלק אורח חיים, ובכדי לדעת בהקדם את המעשה אשר יעשה, הוא אשר בתחלה ילמוד הלכות אלו בקצור נמרץ ע"ד קיצור שו"ע, דרך החיים הנדפס בכמה סידורים וכיו"ב עד שיהי' בקי בהם ע"י לימוד איזה פעמים והרי המעשה הוא העיקר.
בטח יודע מהתקנה לומר תהלים שיעור החדשי - כפי שנחלק התהלים לימי החדש - אחרי תפלת הבקר בכל יום, ועכ"פ ישמור זה מכאן ולהבא, וכן אשר בכל יום חול לפני תפלת הבקר יפריש איזה פרוטות לצדקה, והשי"ת יצליחו.
