Greetings and blessings,

I have duly received your letter of 11 Mar Cheshvan*, whose delivery was delayed. I am surprised not to have heard from you since then, nor even an acknowledgment of receipt of my letters and information about what was done subsequently.

I took note with satisfaction, in your letter, of your sacred accomplishments, and one can rely upon the Alter Rebbe*, whose words will be fully realized. I am alluding to what is stated at the beginning of Torah Or*, regarding the verse: "Tzedakah* elevates a nation." It is explained there that "one's brain and heart become a thousand times more refined" (see note 1).

You have surely taken advantage of the days of Kislev* — the 10th of Kislev* (see note 2), Yud-Tes Kislev* (see note 3), and Chanukah* — for all of this. The fundamental idea being the dissemination of the wellsprings (see note 4) outward, which will have an effect on everything mentioned above.

I am enclosing the latest publications. You will surely make them available to the greatest number. The merit of all depends on you.

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מי"א מ"ח - שנתאחר דרך הילוכו - ולפלא שמאז אין ממנו ידיעות, ולא אישור קבלת מכתביי ומהנעשה בהמשך לזה.

נעם לי לקרות במכתבו אודות פעולותיו בקדש, ונאמן רבנו הזקן שדבריו יתקיימו במילואן, כוונתי למ"ש (בתורה אור בתחלתו) אשר צדקה תרומם גוי ונעשים מוחו ולבו זכים אלף פעמים ככה. ובודאי ניצלו ימי חדש כסלו, יו"ד וי"ט כסלו וימי חנוכה בכל הנ"ל, ובנקודה התיכונה הפצת המעינות חוצה, אשר גם עי"ז יתוסף בכל האמור.

מוסג"פ מה שי"ל לאחרונה, ובטח יזכה בזה את הרבים וזכות הרבים תלוי בו.
