To the Rav, distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs,

Rav Menachem Zeev (see note 1) HaLevi,

Greetings and blessings,

I have duly received your express letter. In accordance with your request, I am responding immediately and enclosing the fascicle that has been published, although these chassidic* discourses are not new. Nevertheless, notes and references have been added to them. But perhaps the Gemara* (see note 2) and these discourses have not yet reached Montreal.

For now, this is the purpose of the present letter. The timely matter is the Rosh Hashanah* of Chassidus* (see note 3). In the words of our master, may you therefore be inscribed and sealed for a good year in the study of Chassidus* and in its ways.
