Greetings and blessings,
You mention a Teshuvah* that would be effective even according to the explanation of the Tanya*, at the end of chapter 7, as my father-in-law, the Rebbe, specifies in a note at the beginning of Pokei'ach Ivrim*.
It is true that this form of Teshuvah*, emanating from the essence of the soul, is effective even in this case — and not merely because one possesses a particular merit, as established in various texts, in particular the Gate of Teshuvah* of the Mitteler Rebbe*, in the chassidic* discourses entitled "If You Are Rejected," chapter 8, and "He Has Redeemed My Soul in Peace," chapter 9.
You refer to the elevation, by the one who achieves Teshuvah*, of the sparks of holiness found within the three forces of evil that are totally impure. The means of accomplishing this are explained in the chassidic* discourse entitled "After Hashem Your Elokim," printed at the end of the Derech Mitzvosecha* of the Tzemach Tzedek*.
For a certain reason, the sending of this letter was delayed, and I have just received your letter conveying good news — namely, the chassidic* gatherings organized on the luminous day of Yud-Tes Kislev*. I thank you for this.
May Hashem grant that these gatherings exert their effect upon one's thoughts, words, and actions, which also entails strengthening all the accomplishments of the young men of the Chabad* association. You will know immense success.
