Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter from the end of Cheshvan* and to the one that preceded it, in which you mention your birthday and your entry into the preparatory class of the Yeshivah* Toras Emes* (see note 1). You tell me that you are progressing in your studies.

May Hashem grant that this progress continue in the study of the revealed dimension of the Torah* and of Chassidus*, in the observance of the mitzvos* in the best possible manner, which is the purpose of man. If this is true in every place, in every yeshivah*, in accordance with the statement of our Sages that "if you make the effort, you will be rewarded," how much more is this the case in the one that was founded and is directed by our holy masters, the masters of Chabad, whose merit protects us.

They continue to implore Divine mercy for all who are connected to them and attached to them, within all of Yisrael*, in order to obtain the satisfaction of all their needs. And this concerns particularly the students and young men of the yeshivos* of our Holy Land.

Of course, the more you strengthen your effort and ardor, the more success you will know. And you will also influence your friends in this direction, which is a form of spiritual Tzedakah*. This will intensify Hashem's help in all that has been stated.

I extend my blessing for a year of success. You have surely observed the birthday customs (see note 2). You will give good news of all this and of the manner in which you take advantage of Kislev*, the month of deliverance and miracles, in order to spread the wellsprings (see note 3) outward.

במענה על מכתבו משילהי חשון והקודם לו, בו כותב ע"ד יום ההולדת שלו וע"ד הכנסו למכינה דהישיבה תורת אמת, ואשר התקדם בלימודו.

ויהי רצון, אשר יצליח בזה עוד ועוד הן בלימוד הנגלה והן בלימוד החסידות וקיום המצות בהידור אשר זה כל האדם ואם בכל מקום ובכל ישיבה אמרו רז"ל יגעת ומצאת, עאכו"כ בישיבה מיסודם ובהנהלתם של רבותנו נשיאנו נשיאי חב"ד זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, אשר עומדים ומעוררים רחמים רבים על כל השייכים אליהם ומקושרים אליהם בתוך כלל ישראל להמשיך להם המצטרך, ובפרט לתלמידי ואברכי ישיבות ארצנו הקדושה, ומובן שככל שירבה בהתמדה ושקידה תתרבה ג"כ ההצלחה, ועל ידי שישפיע גם על חבריו בזה שזהו ענין צדקה רוחניות, תתוסף בסייעתא דשמיא בכל האמור.

בברכה לשנת ההצלחה, ובטח נהג במנהג יום הולדת ולבשו"ט בכל האמור, וכן מניצול ימי חדש כסלו חדש הגאולה והנסים להפצת המעינות חוצה.
