To the distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem,

Rav Yisrael Yehudah (see note 1),

Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter of 8 Kislev* and to the one that preceded it, in which you convey good news concerning the chassidim*, to whom Hashem will grant long life. May Hashem grant that always and every day you give me good news, material and spiritual, of yourself, of the members of your family, and of all that concerns the chassidim*, within all the Children of Yisrael*, to whom Hashem will grant long life.

You will surely take advantage of the propitious days of this month of Kislev*, in particular the luminous day of Yud-Tes Kislev* (see note 2), which is approaching — the day of our deliverance and the freedom of our souls, as it is said: "He has redeemed my soul in peace… for they were numerous with me" (see note 3), which also alludes to the closeness with these many people, including those who for the time being are still in the public domain, "on the outside."

For when someone desires to purify himself, he is assisted from Above, as explained in the Likkutei Torah*, Devarim, page 88b. Moreover, the verb "to purify oneself" also means here (see note 4) "to purify others." This is self-evident.

Awaiting detailed good news of all this and with blessing on the occasion of the festival of liberation,

במענה על מכתבו מח' כסלו והקודם לו, בבשורה טובה מהנעשה את אנ"ש שליט"א, ויה"ר אשר תכה"י יבשר טוב הן בגשמיות והן ברוחניות, הן מהנעשה אתו ואת ב"ב והן מהנעשה את כל אנ"ש בתוככי כלל ישראל שליט"א.

ובודאי ינצלו ימי הסגולה דחדש כסלו וביחוד את יום הבהיר י"ט כסלו הבע"ל יום גאולתנו ופדות נפשנו, וכמ"ש פדה בשלום נפשי כי ברבים היו עמדי שבזה נרמז גם הקירוב של רבים ואפילו אלו הנמצאים לעת עתה ברשות הרבים בחוצה, והרוצה לטהר מסייעין אותו ומבואר בלקו"ת (דברים פח, ב) לטהר פירושו לטהר אחרים, וק"ל.
