Greetings and blessings,
I have duly received your letter of 2 Kislev*, month of miracles and deliverance. I noted with distress, at its beginning, that your ardor to spread the wellsprings (see note 1) outward by distributing chassidic* books has apparently diminished.
You attribute this to current events. Yet, quite the contrary, the events of this period (see note 2) should have led you to redouble your ardor in all that concerns the Tree of Life (see note 3), over which the opposing camp (see note 4) has no power and for which the concept of exile has no meaning. This is self-evident.
May Hashem grant that these few words, despite their brevity, prove effective, given the importance of what is at stake. Not only will you personally make an additional effort in all of this, but moreover your enthusiasm, the warmth and the light of Chassidus*, will convince others, each in his domain, to distribute these books, these words, these actions.
May Hashem grant you success, all the more so as this is timely, on the occasion of the 10th (see note 5) and Yud-Tes Kislev* (see note 6), as well as the days of Chanukah* that are approaching.

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מב' כסלו, הוא חדש הנסים והגאולה, ומצער מה שכנראה מהתחלת מכתבו נחלש מרץ שלו בענין הפצת המעינות חוצה ע"י הפצת ספרי חסידות, ומה שכותב שהזמן גרמא, הרי אדרבה, מאורעות הזמן צריכים לעורר תוספת אומץ בכל עניני אילנא דחיי, שאין שם אחיזה כלל לצד שכנגד, שבמילא מובן שאין שם גלות וכו' וק"ל.
ויה"ר שמלות אלו אף כי מעטות בכמות יפעלו מתאים להענין וערכו, ולא רק בעצמו יוסיף בהאמור, אלא מתוך התלהבות בחום ואור חסידותי ישפיע גם על אחרים בכגון דא, מתאים לענינו, ע"י הפצת ספרים והפצת דברים והפצת מעשים, והשי"ת יצליחו וביחוד שהזמן גרמא יו"ד וי"ט כסלו וימי חנוכה הבע"ל.
