To the Rav, distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs,

Rav Saadia (see note 1),

Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter of 9 Kislev*. I am surprised that you make no mention of the preparations for the chassidic* gathering of 10 Kislev*, date of the liberation of the Mitteler Rebbe*. For in the city where you currently find yourself, it is also possible to find the words that explain what Chassidus* is — luminous terms that the local Jews will be able to understand.

How much more will this be so on the luminous day of Yud-Tes Kislev* (see note 2), the day of our deliverance and the freedom of our souls, when the quintessence and its revelation were granted to us, according to the well-known expression of the Iggeres HaKodesh*.

In your city and your surroundings, you have the merit of being the channel through which the wellsprings (see note 3) can spread in every direction and every place. As the consecrated formula states, "Your wellsprings shall spread outward." Now, "the Holy One, blessed be He, does not act with deceit toward His creatures," and it is therefore certain that you possess the necessary strength and opportunities for this. Everything depends solely on your will, and I therefore await good news.

You have surely received the fascicle presenting the chassidic* discourse entitled "The Many Waters."

With blessing for the festival of liberation, to give good news, including of the state of health of all the members of your family, to whom Hashem will grant long life,

P.S.: If among the students of Sefrou some are eligible to receive Chanukah* gelt* (see note 4), kindly distribute it to them on my behalf. You will take this opportunity to explain Chanukah* to them according to Chassidus*.

It would be good to set a uniform amount of Chanukah* gelt* for all the Ohalei Yosef Yitzchak schools in Morocco.

במענה על מכתבו מט' כסלו, ולפלא שאינו מזכיר ע"ד ההכנות להתועדות ביו"ד כסלו, יום גאולת אדמו"ר האמצעי, שאפילו במחנו עתה אפשר למצוא אותיות מסבירות עניני תורת החסידות, ובמילא גם אותיות מאירות לפי הבנת והשגת תושבי בנ"י של מקום, ועאכו"כ ביום הבהיר הוא יום י"ט כסלו אשר גאולתנו ופדות נפשנו ניתן לנו העצם וגם ההתפשטות, וכלשון אגה"ק הידוע; והרי במחנו וסביבתו זכה הוא להיות הצנור על ידו צריכים המעינות להתפשט בכל מקום ופנה, וכלשון הידוע, יפוצו מעינותיך חוצה, וכיון שאין הקב"ה בא בטרוניא עם בריותיו בודאי ניתנו לו הכחות והאפשריות על זה, ואין הדבר תלוי אלא ברצונו, ואחכה לבשו"ט.

הקונטרס ד"ה מים רבים בטח כבר הגיעו.

בברכת הגאולה ולבשו"ט בכל האמור וכן מבריאות כל ב"ב שיחיו.

אם יש מבין תלמידי צפרו כאלו שנכנסים בחוג מקבלי מעות חנוכה בודאי יחלק להם בשמי, וינצל את ההזדמנות לבארם מעניני חנוכה ע"פ תורת החסידות, ומהנכון שבכל מוסדות אהלי"י אשר במרוקה יהי' הסכום אחד.
