To the distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem,

Rav Yaakov (see note 1), the shochet*,

Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter. The situation (see note 2) is no more serious than it was a few months ago, or even a few years ago. Regarding your moving because of this fear, which is without foundation — who knows which location will be the most protected? More broadly, the Guardian of Yisrael* neither sleeps nor slumbers. He watches over each person with an attentive eye. There is therefore no reason to frighten oneself or to frighten others. One must devote oneself to one's profound and essential mission — that of being "lights that illuminate" — as has been explained and written many times.

Surely preparations are being made to take advantage of the luminous day of Yud-Tes Kislev* (see note 3) that is approaching, and of the days of Chanukah*, in the best possible manner, in order to spread the wellsprings (see note 4) outward and Judaism in general. May Hashem grant you success.

Enclosed is what has been recently published. Surely you will make its contents available to as many as possible. The merit of all depends on you.

במענה על מכתבו, הנה המצב אינו רציני יותר מאשר הי' לפני כמה חדשים ואפשר גם שנים, ובהנוגע להעתקת מקום ביחס עם הפחד (שאין לו יסוד) אין אתנו יודע עד מה איזה מקום נשמר יותר, ובכלל הרי שומר ישראל לא ינום ולא יישן ומשגיח כל כאו"א בעינא פקיחא, ולכן אין להבהיל את עצמו גם לא אחרים ולהתעסק בתפקידו הפנימי והנפשי להיות נרות להאיר, וכמדובר בע"פ ובכתובים כ"פ.

בודאי מתכוננים לנצל את יום הבהיר י"ט כסלו הבע"ל וכן ימי החנוכה באופן הכי טוב ואפשרי להצפת המעינות חוצה ולהפצת היהדות בכלל, והשי"ת יצליחם.

מוסג"פ מה שהו"ל בזמן האחרון, ובטח יזכה בתוכנו את הרבים וזכות הרבים תלוי בו.
