To the members of the committee of Kfar Chabad*,

may Hashem grant you long life,

Greetings and blessings,

You have surely already received, in due course, my letter responding to your previous correspondence.

The purpose of the present letter is to address what is currently relevant. This year, Yud-Tes Kislev* falls on a Friday, the eve of the holy Shabbos*. Now, on this date, a large celebration is organized at Kfar Chabad*, with numerous participants coming from various locations in the Holy Land, some of them several hours away from the Kfar.

One must therefore seriously consider whether it is wise to schedule this celebration for Motzaei Shabbos*, which could cause… (see note 1). Even if it begins several hours after nightfall, some always wish to arrive early. This is self-evident.

If such a risk exists — if there is even a doubt about it — it is preferable that the celebration take place on Sunday, or alternatively on Thursday. Obviously, the chosen date must be publicized (see note 2) in advance, in the appropriate manner.

Since we are on this subject, I will make an additional remark, as follows. I do not know how this celebration was organized in previous years, whether there was an established program or not. But, thank Hashem, it has been a success. It is therefore advisable that such a program exist. In this way, one can make the broadest use of it.

Insofar as possible, this program should be precise, down to the smallest detail. In any case, it should be prepared in advance, as much as possible. Experts should be chosen who will determine the details and supervise their execution during the celebration.

May Hashem grant that all this and the other efforts you make serve as an introduction, a preparation, and a vessel for obtaining the fulfillment of the wishes of your heart, among all of Yisrael*, in accordance with the formulation of our leader (see note 3), whose merit will precede us.

Thus may we be inscribed and sealed for a good year, in the study of Chassidus* and in its ways.

מכתבי, מענה על מכתבם הקודם בודאי נתקבל בעתו.

ועל ענין שהזמן גרמא באתי, כיון שחג י"ט כסלו בשנה זו חל ביום ו' עש"ק, וכיון שבכפר חב"ד עורכים גם חגיגה פומבית בה משתתפים אורחים מכמה מקומות באה"ק ת"ו, ובטח גם ממקומות אשר הנסיעה משם להכפר דורשת איזה שעות, יש לדון ברציניות אם כדאי לסדר חגיגה האמורה במוצש"ק, בכדי שלא לגרום כו', ובפרט שאם אפילו תתחיל החגיגה באיזה שעות בלילה, הרי תמיד ישנם מקדימים לבוא, וק"ל. ואם יש לחשש זה מקום ואפילו אם ספק בדבר כדאי לקבוע החגיגה ביום א' (או ה') ומובן שצריך לפרסם עד"ז בעוד מועד בפרסום המתאים.

וכיון דאתינא להכי, אעיר עוד נקודה אחת, והיא שאיני יודע הסדר של החגיגה בשנים שעברו אם היתה בזה איזה תכנית, או לא, וכיון שת"ל הצליחה החגיגה בשנים שעברו, מהנכון שתהי' תכנית, שאז בטח יש לנצלה עוד יותר, ואם אי אפשר תכנית מדוייקה בפרטית ופרטי פרטים, הרי עכ"פ יהי' מתוכנן מראש עד כמה שאפשר ולמנות בעלי סמכא שידונו וישגיחו על הפרטים בזה בעת מעשה.

ויה"ר אשר כל הנ"ל, וכן שאר ההשתדלויות ישמשו הקדמה הכנה וכלי למילוי משאלות לבבנו בתכ"י בנוסח נשיאנו זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, אשר לשנה טובה בלימוד החסידות ודרכי החסידות נכתב ונחתם.
