Greetings and blessings*,
I am responding to your letter of 25 Tishrei*:
A) It is clear that the emissaries (see note 1) were right to say that the correspondence is not a burden for me. May Hashem grant that, among all of Israel, the letters that one person addresses to another be joyous, materially and spiritually, in a visible and tangible good.
B) You mention what unfortunately occurred at the synagogue (see note 2) and the idea of acquiring a Sefer Torah* (see note 3). It is clear that this is important, but in the current situation, schools based on sacred values find themselves in a critical financial situation. Numerous are those who devote themselves to the study of Torah* and who are its spokesmen, yet live in worrisome material circumstances.
Consequently, the proposal of the Rav shlita* (see note 4) — to devote this tzedakah* to strengthening the Torah* institutions and those who study it — is judicious. This is obvious.
No doubt you have received detailed news from the emissaries — the guests who came to visit here. May Hashem grant that, always and every day, Jews announce only good news to one another.

במענה על מכתבו מכ"ה תשרי:
א) בודאי צדקו השלוחים אשר אין מכתבים מכבידים עלי, והלואי שנזכה בתכ"י שתוכן מכתב איש לרעהו יהי' משמח הן בגשמיות והן ברוחניות ובטוב הנראה והנגלה.
ב) מ"ש בקשר עם המאורע בביהכ"נ ל"ע ול"ע בהנוגע למחשבה אודות קנית ס"ת.
הנה אף שמובן גודל דבר זה, אבל בהמצב העכשוי אשר מוסדות החינוך על טהרת הקדש נמצאים במצב כספי חמור, כמה מלומדי התורה ונושאי דגלה מצבם החומרי הוא קשה ביותר כו' וכו', נכונה סברת הרב שליט"א שהצדקה תהי' להחזקת מוסדות התורה ולומדי תורה, וק"ל.
בודאי קבלו פ"ש מפורטת מהשלוחים האורחים שי' שביקרו כאן, ויה"ר שת[כ]ה"י יתבשרו בנ"י איש מרעהו אך טוב.
