Blessings and greetings* (see note 1),

I am responding to your letter, in which you describe to me what is happening to you (see note 2).

You must know that this is not exceptional, that dozens of households find themselves in a comparable situation. As concrete experience shows, the best way to improve matters is to pay no attention to it and, above all, not to worsen it by using harsh expressions.

It is easier to achieve this within oneself than it appears at first glance. One can observe very quickly that good results follow from it. Moreover, the true and deep reasons for such situations are, very often, the difficulties or even the limitations one endures in earning a livelihood. Human nature dictates that one feels this in one's relationships with those who are close, far more than with those who are distant or even complete strangers. There are very few exceptions in this matter.

If you carefully observe all the good that Hashem has granted you in recent years — a true good, for very many years — you will strengthen your trust in Him and the conviction that He will continue to bestow His blessings upon you. Then, you will understand for yourself to what extent all the unfortunate events have been reduced and negligible in comparison with the blessings that Hashem has bestowed upon you.

במענה למכתבה בו מתארת אודות היחס וכר.

למרבה הצער אינה יוצאת מהכלל בענין זה ,ומצב דומה ישנו

בעשרות רבות של בתים ,וכפי שהנסיון מראה ,הדרך הטובה ביותר

לשפר זאת ,היא לא לשים לב לזה ,ומובן מאליו לא להחריף יותר ע״י

ביטויים קשים וחריפים ,וקל יותר להשפיע על עצמה ,יותר מכפי

שנדמה לה מראש ,כי רואים בתוך זמן קצר מאוד שזה מביא תוצאות

טובות ,ובפרט שבמקרים רבים ,הסיבה האמיתית הפנימית למצבים

כאלה ,הם הקשיים או הדוחק בפרנסה ,שאז בהתאם לטבע האדם,

נרגש הדבר יותר ביחס עם קרובים מאשר עם רחוקים או זרים לגמרי,

ומעטים מאוד יוצאים מכלל זה ,וכאשר מתבוננים היטב בטובה שהשם

יתברך נתן בשנים האחרונות ,טוב אמיתי ,וטוב לשנים רבות מאוד ,זה

מחזק את הבטחון והוודאות ,שבטח גם להבא השם יתברך יראה את

חסדיו ,ותוכל להווכח ,עד כמה קטנים ולא חשובים היו המקרים

הבודדים בהשוואה לחסד השם יתברך.
