To the Rav*, the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, of manifold accomplishments, Rav Moshe (see note 1),
Greetings and blessings*,
I have duly received your letter from Sunday evening. Be satisfied, as I myself was, upon noting that you continue to carry out your sacred mission among the students and those receiving their education (see note 2), on Shemini Atzeres* and Simchas Torah* (see note 3), in order to explain to them, orally and also by adopting the appropriate conduct, the content of these days.
Various Chassidic* texts explain the importance of these moments of the "time of our joy," when "Hashem rejoices in His creatures" and "Israel rejoices in its Creator."
May Hashem grant that these days exert their influence throughout the entire year, in order to reveal in these students the highest forces. Furthermore, they will act with the forces they already possess, and they will grow to the honor, glory, and pride of this institution in which they receive their education and of all its students.
And you know the ruling of our holy Torah* that those who invest effort in such matters are the first to be rewarded.

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מאור ליום השני, ותנוח דעתו כאשר הניח את דעתי במה שנשאר על משרתו בקדש להיות עם התלמידים והמחונכים בימי השמע"צ ושמח"ת ולבארם בדבור, ובטח גם ע"י הנהגה מתאימה עניני ימים אלו, וכמבואר בכ"מ בדא"ח גודל יוקר הזמנים הללו דזמן שמחתנו דישמח ה' במעשיו וישמח ישראל בעושיו, ויה"ר שתהי' השפעת הימים האלו על כל ימי השנה הבע"ל לגלות בהתלמידים כחותיהם הנעלמים, נוסף על הפעולות בכחותיהם הגלוים ויגדלו להיות לשם לתהלה ולתפארת להמוסד בו מתחנכים ולהמחנכים שלהם, וידוע פסק תוה"ק דהמשתדלים בזה נוטלים חלק בראש...
