Greetings and blessings*,

I have duly received the reports of your meetings of 25 Elul*, 8 and 12 Tishrei*, the first day of Chol HaMoed Sukkos*, as well as your letters of 13 Tishrei* and the fourth day of Chol HaMoed Sukkos*. I await the continuation of your news. May Hashem grant that it be good.

You inform me of your decision concerning the mikveh* (see note 1). This does not suit me at all, especially since I do not understand your assertion that the preparation of the plans must take two months, when this matter has been stressed for more than six months already.

Similarly, the construction costs have suddenly risen from twenty to thirty-five thousand shekels. And I am very much afraid that this amount will increase further. Similarly, I do not understand that you are not able to tell me whether it is possible to build half of the mikveh*. In this case, it is not a matter of half; rather, for the time being, one pool will be built (see note 2) instead of two.

My purpose in writing these lines is not to complain. But, as I said in my previous letter, winter is approaching. The women's mikveh* is used in the evening and at night (see note 3). It must therefore be completed as soon as possible, obviously without diminishing not only the validity of this mikveh*, but also its comfort.

מאשר הנני קבלת הפ"כ מאסיפתם דכ"ה אלול, ח' י"ב תשרי ואדחוה"ס. וכן המכתבים די"ג תשרי וד' חוהמ"ס, ואחכה להמשך הידיעות. ויה"ר שיהיו בשורות טובות.

...מובן שמה שכותבים החלטתם בענין המקוה, לא נראית לי כלל וכלל. ובפרט שאינו מובן הכתוב - שהכנת התכניות תצריך זמן שני חדשים! (ובפרט אז מען טומעלט זיך שוין אין דעם כחצי שנה ויותר). כן זה שלפתע פתאום נתעלו הוצאות הבני' מעשרים אלף לל"ה אלף, וחוששני שעוד יוגדל יותר. כן אינו מובן מה שאינם יודעים אם אפר לבנות חצי מקוה, שהרי אין המדובר בחצי, אלא, שלע"ע, תבנה אחת במקום שתים.

ומובן שאין כוונתי בהנ"ל לטענות, אלא, שכמו שכתבתי במכתבי הקודם, שימי החורף מתקרבים, והמקוה לנשים זמנה בערב ובלילה, ויש להשתדל שתוגמר בהקדם האפשרי, כמובן מבלי למעט לא רק בכשרות המקוה, אלא גם בהנוחיות שלה...
