Igrot Kodesh · Letter 478 — Sefer Torah and Sefirat HaOmer

By the grace of Hashem,

3 Iyar 5709,

To the distinguished Chassid who fears Hashem,

Rav C. H.[1],

I send you my greetings and blessings,

I am surprised that you have not yet confirmed receipt of my letters and the fascicles that accompanied them.

Enclosed you will find a copy of the list of the committee for the Sefer Torah*[2], specifying the letters assigned to each person.

You will surely describe to me in detail what has been done for the Ma'amad*[3], as several of those responsible are departing to settle in the Holy Land[4].

To conclude with what is currently relevant, I will mention the Kiddush* of this Rosh Chodesh*[5]. Indeed, the month of Iyar* possesses a quality the other months do not all share. It allows one to fulfill a mitzvah* every day — that of counting the Omer*.
