To the Rav*, the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, of manifold accomplishments, Rav Zeev (see note 1),

Greetings and blessings*,

I am responding to your letter, in which you tell me of the beginning of the studies (see note 2), which took place at a good and fruitful time.

May Hashem grant that you apply, in this matter, especially in the spiritual domain, the terms of the verse: "I will walk in spaciousness." You know the saying of our holy masters (see note 3), that "the entirety of a process is conditioned by the way it began." You will therefore have the success of forming students who are Chassidim*, who fear Hashem, and who are erudite.

And Hashem will grant you, together with your wife, a double reward, since you will moreover derive much Chassidic satisfaction from your children (see note 4).

With my blessing* for a joyous festival of Sukkos*,

ויה"ר שיתנהגו בהנ"ל - וביחוד בהנוגע לרוחניות - ע"ד מה שכתוב ואתהלכה ברחבה, וכבר ידוע פתגם רבותינו הק' ווי מען שטעלט זיך אוועק אזוי גייט דאס, ויצליחו להעמיד תלמידים חסידים יראי שמים ולומדים.

ושכרו כפול מן השמים ביחד עם זוגתו תי' לראות רוב נחת חסידותי מילידיהם שיחיו.
